Well, so much for insight into Tiffany or her problems today!

There is something about kitten clawing people that some people think is hilarious. I remember once being the victim of a kitten who left me with a giant, several inches long scratch bleeding profusely on my leg. While I was not amused, a number of people witnessing the moment thought the kitten was darling and cute. I feel for Tiffany, especially as the kitten makes it way towards forever ending any potential modeling career she may have ever thought of having.

Pfffft…so I was wrong…way wrong. Les was not being compassionate in handing her the “companion kittie.” He was setting up for the sadistic joke.Guess I should have known better.

Ah yes… the side of kittens we tend to forget when we see that little ball of fluff.., razor-sharp claws!

Yup, I called it yesterday. Good stress reliever = kitty therapy. We are seeing the rare act of kindness from Les and usually for Tiffany. It seems he does not do this for anyone else.

So far so good. Please no Disney – where the kitten makes Tiffany’s life just wonderful.

Cats are evil. Fight me

Les is back to normal.

Several years ago I had rescued a cat that had been declawed and abandoned ( evidently by the previous tenant in my apartment, as he just wandered in and made himself at home) Besides the cruelty of maiming the cat by amputating the first joints of its front paws, people also fail to mention that cats tend to use their rear class to compensate.

A couple years after “Fang” moved in, my new bride was petting him when something hit the window startling the cat. He took off out of her arms leaving several puncture wounds across her chest.

Oddly, we had two other cats that were not declawed, and neither one would use their rear class beyond as an assist when climbing their scratching post tower

Obviously the next business idea will be a Cat Nail/Claw Bar!

The kitten likes tiff, she will figure that out, she’s really not evil.

Old problem forgotten, new one emerged.

There’s no safety claws as far as kittens are concerned, I guess.

Actually my wife and I have fostered kittens and their claws are quite short at that age.

Look at the blissy face in the second panel on that kitten!! Yeah, the ones that young don’t quite control their claws. Mum’s year old Sheba still digs a bit when she wants to cling ..ow! Kitten claws are sharp!

Punk is pretty well trained considering how young he is.

I like how much Les and Gunther have become friends. And I’m sure that the “kitty treatment” is really able to distract Tiffany from her problems, at least for a moment (a painful moment) and then they will be able to find a solution together.

She’s still broke, but now she’s bleeding, too.

Pretty little kittens with their pretty little paws plus, of course, the sharp little razor blades on the ends of their pretty little paws. :)

And beware of the climbing kitten and dangling earrings, Tiff… ;-)

Today feels like we’re marking time. What’s the end game here?

Ladies and Gentlemen of the jury, one MORE thing.

Mr. Knox knew perfectly well that kitten’s “capabilities” BEFORE he handed it to Tiffany, having experienced it HIMSELF back in September of 2019.

And yet Mr. Knox Shamelessly and DELIBERATELY handed that kitten to Tiffany without a single word of caution or warning knowing FULL well it was quite capable of inflecting serious Bodily Harm and Blood Letting!!

I ask you Ladies and Gentlemen of the Jury. Is THAT the act of a “Compassionate, Caring Young Man?” Or the Callous Disregard of some Lust filled Neo Juvenile Delinquent?

I ask you turn in a verdict of GUILTY for Mr. Knox! GUILTY of “Voluntary Clawing in the 1st Degree!”

Cute, guys, but she has a REAL problem, and taking her mind off it won’t solve it.

Hey where is Pipe Tobacco? I hope he is okay. I am going to wait on this for now. The kitty theme and claws seem to be underlying here, but I want to see how Greg and Karen resolve, or not, Tiffany’s basic problems, and how her Luannverse friends (yes including Les MD) help her solve them.

This is exactly why I would never have a feline. Period.

Tiffany found her first true love and he scratched her.

Duh – you’re supposed to clip their claws when they need to be clipped…

Probably why they call him Punk.

As usually Mordy plays Evil-smeller (derived from witch smellers) and has the railroad tie, tar, and feathers ready for Les; how long did it take before your senses on Tiffany quieted down? A good break to further develop relationships, I like it. A little play without swirl shows us a little more, including that Les has a relationship with Punk!

The cruelty of declawing is debatable. When cats are declawed they are given proper anesthesia and pain medication. Declawing DOES involve removing the joint that causes claws to grow. And declawed cats usually heal quickly and completely with no issues. And they can get along fairly well after the surgery. But please remember that once this is done they are no longer safe in the outside world. They cannot climb well and they certainly cannot defend themselves from other cats.

Basically today seems like a filler day to me. No appreciable movement of the story today.

I sadly think though that we are steering ever more close to the path of having Tiffany move into the Gulag. For me, I think this would be an unfortunate occurrence…. not because there would not be comedic value…. but more because I think the move would facilitate more Unger/Madison style stories of Gulag living featuring Les and Gunther together. For me, I find Gunther’s and Les’ stories far more compelling and interesting when they are apart from each other and out of the Gulag.

Reminds me of a pretty little white kitten we had, named Vicious.

Pet her long and you would know why. After which, blood would be exiting your thumb in spurts.

Not only that, but the sweater is now full or holes and covered with cat hair. Another piece of clothing bites the dust. Her wardrobe is almost gone.

Les is being Les and Kitty and Tiff or not happy.

Is Les turning into the new TJ? Cuz I like the dynamic Gunth and Les have in this strip. Hope they keep it up.

If you’re going to have your cat declawed, stop by your friendly surgeon’s office and make arrangements to have your fingernails removed at the same time in the same way.

Problems forgotten… but not solved.

Had a wonderful cat when I was young. He was big, and only sometimes would get ornery. When he clawed, we just simply had to say, ‘Soft paws’, and he would (in feline fashion) make a ‘full retraction’ and complied. Again, great cat!

The little kitty did serve as a warning system. He gave her claws for alarm.

Hmm, so what started as a reasonably high-stakes and dramatic story (doing badly in school and unable to afford housing) has now devolved into “Tiffany holds kitten, gets clawed.” The stakes have dropped worse than the stock market on Black Tuesday. With all the storytelling opportunities afforded by Tiffany’s circumstances, focusing on this feels like a real waste. It would be like if Delta’s bout with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma got ignored in favor of watching Luann try to pick her outfit for the day. We’re ignoring important stuff here to instead watch people get clawed by kittens again (because keep in mind that we already saw the “kitty tries to be friendly but its claws are sharp” gag just a couple weeks ago). Is this really the best use of the strip’s time?

Les is trying to give away his Kitten.

Tiff – this is where you grab the kitty by the scruff of the neck and hand him back to Les. With any luck, the kitty will have his claws still extended… You can’t afford to have any of your clothes ruined by a cat.

That’s a black cat. There’s you’re problem right there.

We will never have to have our own cat. A cat lady lives next door to us, and another cat lady lives across the street from us. There are cats everywhere. Besides that, some feral kittens were just born on our property.

Double ouch! Away with Punk the Kitty-killer! Away with Leslie Knox the Kitty-killer-giver!

How much more pain can be sadistically heaped our poor Tiffany?

Trim those claws a bit.

Every time someone talks baby talk to one of the kittens, it claws. Probably trying to tell the humans to quit with the dumb baby talk…

Les is the kind of guy who should never be allowed to reproduce.
