The father of one of the Captains on my pre-consolidation HS team owned a restaurant. He also had a place for private company type parties etc. It was actually the old ‘family home place’ that they had renovated. It was really quite nice. They would hold that place open during football seasons on Friday night for our team’s post game parties. Looking back that was big cost for them when you also throw in the lost revenue.
Now… here’s what CJ will like about this. The ‘facilities’ at this place were ‘different’. It was old ‘outhouse’ that they had remodeled! The outside looked pretty much like it had always looked. Unpainted weathered wooden slats with a tin roof. The inside though was what surprised you. Remember this was the back in the early “70’s”. When you opened the door it had walnut paneled wall, carpeted floors, sink and commode with heating/cooling and stereo music wired in from the main building.
Wait, who is the kid in jeans and tee shirt in P1? I assumed he was the one making the announcement, but in P2, it’s someone sweaty and still in uniform. Especially when you look at the color version. What gives?
And speaking of giving, I give to you yesterday’s Mopped Up Thorp. A day late, but better than never.
