    We had a very large Wolf Spider stranded on a leaf in the pool yesterday. We saved it with the skimmer net and put it in the tall grass where the woods start (which is right there, we live in the woods). I hope he tells his friends that we’re friendly! :-P

    From time to time, I’ve had a succession of jumping spider come live in my bathroom, hanging around the window where enough tiny insects gravitate to feed them. They mostly soon become used to me and don’t run when I come close. Although personalities vary, and some are more nervous than others. I have a sign posted for guests:

    The small spider lives here. It is his home. He has his jobs to do. You are only visiting. Do not molest, alarm or harm the small spider.
