OK, so you’re totally against this PC stuff, except you won’t tell us what this n-word might be.

It just waters down the dramatic impact when Huck realizes that not only is Jim actually as human as a white man, but also that they are friends, causing Huck to resolve to free Jim even though it means going to hell for stealing that nice old lady’s property.

And in the Good Old U.S.A. no one can imagine a middle ground.

It’s either over-the-top squeamish PC or unchallenged surreptitious slyly undercutting derision.

My how unimaginative we have become.

Or did we EVER have any sense?
