Heart of Darkness was very thin, but that didn’t endear it to me.
That thin book won’t help much to get your game controller back from the top shelve.
The thickest people like the thinnest books.

Never had a summer reading list.
Not me the biggest book and interesting too. Loved history of all different countries. Plus the culture, etc.
