Pundits focusing on all the wrong characteristics, of course.

Someone who thinks killing strangers is a good idea is psychotic. The person’s politics or choice of recreation has no predictive or explanatory value.

Another attempt at false equivalency. The El Paso shooter had an actual manifesto espousing white supremacist ideology and acted on it. The Dayton shooter may have supported Bernie, but didn’t have a manifesto and didn’t seem to have any connection between ideology and his shooting.

In its best moments, America has been the exceptional homogeneous melting pot society accomplishing great things and at its worst divided against itself … dissipating its accumulations and accomplishing nothing in the process.

United we stand divided we fall. My enemy is not the conservative who disagrees with me. It’s more likely to be the top boss where he works or the investors who own his workplace.

Meanwhile, no one seems to be paying attention to a study of mass shooters, that notes childhood trauma and “an identifiable crisis point” shortly before the shootings. The article also contains recommendations based on what they learned.

(Sorry, Ted, not trying to rub salt in a wound, but they’re the ones who did the research).

@Guy Fawkes! : It is good to see you posting again, but I am afraid the moderators vanished you last time you posted. So you can see your work, at toons like this, but we cannot, unless we visit your GoComics Profile

    https://www.gocomics.com/profile/2127277

You need to ask the mods why you are still vanished after two months, and ask for reinstatement. It does little, if any, good for the rest of us to complain to the mods. They just say it is their business, not ours.

The problem is there are so many guns and they are easy for a wounded male ego to get and show every one how much they hurt him, women don’t do this.

    .

“Got me a gun, as long as my arm, gonna shoot everybody that done me harm,

I’m a good time Charley and I’m back in town again…

First off, there isn’t a lot of difference between a member of Cult 45 and a Bernie Bro, as far as critical thinking skills and white privilege go. The Dayton was a bully and he was a gun nut. He killed his ‘sister’ because she identified as male and hadn’t come out to her family yet. So – bully, gun-nut, anti-trans ~ I wouldn’t call any of those things liberal.

Other than showcasing your stupidity, does your cartoon have any relevant purpose? YOu wasted your readers’ most important resource…their time.

The false equivalency is really tiresome. Several shooters have quoted statements made by Trump and Ted is equating that with “I’d vote for Elizabeth Warren”. Some jerk threw a teen boy to the ground hard enough that he was bleeding from his ears because the boy didn’t remove his hat during the national anthem. Jerk’s lawyer is putting forward the defense that he believed this was the direction given by the “president”.

If there were any useful connection between what we knew before and what happened, wouldn’t we have begun to see it by now?

There is, ironically, finally enough data to do some analysis on correlations between mass shootings (and suicides) and the strictness or laxity of state gun laws. Unsurprisingly, the tighter the laws, the less likely a state is to experience that particular pain. Another amusing irony: The researchers used the NRA “gun law report card” to assess how strict a state’s laws are. It’s updated every time any state changes the laws, so there is no confusion over what laws were in effect prior to such a murder.

I find Ted Rall today sounding like a Right Winger and their use of false equivalency. Disappointing really since I thought him beyond that low grade response.

Sure Ted. Dayton shooter must have been inspired by inflammatory rhetoric from Elizabeth Warren.

    Not.

There’s only one side calling it an invasion and characterizing victims as pests to be exterminated.
