I’m just wondering what set of circumstances led to Flack thinking she was ever going to need a concealed blade in her fan. It seems sort of arbitrary in my mind for what’s basically just a college professor who’s full of herself to have. What was she going to use it for until this situation came up? Chasing off wayward students?
Now, if she was, like, a secret agent or something… :P
True, she’s clearly involved in some shady business on the side, too, but I suspect this is a more recent development in her life as she doesn’t strike me as too experienced at it. She’s at least made some amateurish mistakes in assuming generally everything will go exactly as she planned it and not leaving a whole lot of wiggle room for unforeseen complications.
Sharpe has grown as a person over the last couple of hours. He’s got a long way to go (self-degradation is not good), but at least he realizes he has flaws instead of thinking everyone loves him now.

Which is faster, the bullet or the blade?
Of course, it all depends on how good a shot she is, she doesn’t have an overly large target there.

Provided they come out of this alive I wonder if Knott might be willing to provide professional service to Dr Flack.
