In the 60s (we were in elementary school) my father sold two-way radios to the police, fire and military. He was on a call at an airbase and they were getting rid of some old cargo chutes (6’ canopy). He brought home a chute for each of us and we had much fun that summer attaching them to our bikes and pretending to be in drag racers. The winter came and we got the bright idea to jump from a second floor deck which was over the two car garage at basement level. It was a good thing there was a pile of snow in front of one of the bays. Even holding the chute open didn’t slow the jumper down much. So we decided to stop using the chutes and jumped into the snow pile several more times.
Parachutes won’t work, unless you put giant fan motors in a duct in the ground and build an indoor flight center… How much would it cost to get a giant grounded B 3 phase 480v substation in the back yard?
