Once you begin to discover who you are, then you really realize how you have been given authority over your life. But you can only do that through the struggle of life. And most people avoid the struggle. Most people go through life avoiding pain. When you’re working on a dream, at some point in time, a transition takes place. Something in you that you never activated lies dormant in there. You learn how to leap higher. You start challenging yourself to dig deeper. You don’t need anybody to approve your dream. Do what you know is right. Don’t try and take any shortcuts. Pay your dues.

If it WERE geometry, what does “double nine to 2:2:1 in pyramid base” mean?

Tiffany has probably never had to challenge herself until recently..she’s doing a lot of things she’s never done so giving this a real shot will be a good experience for her. I like the amount of growth she’s had the last year.

One of the perils of growing up having everything done for you is never learning that you can do things for yourself. Good for Bets helping Tiffany get out of that trap!

See? THIS is what I’m talking about. Tiffany is discouraged but Bets rushes right in there offering words of encouragement! And Tiffany sat right back down! This is indeed BEAUTIFUL.

A real no holds barred, no strings attached friendship. And it started almost from the moment Bets met Tiff last Summer.

Now, compare THIS friendship, with Luann’s current close “pals” Tara and Bernice. Talk about Night and Day. And I STILL say that properly motivated, Tiff CAN pass this class. Hey, Remember this? Panel 2: https://www.gocomics.com/luann/2015/08/06?ct=v&cti=1289172

Tiff is just soft focused, as Gunther said. But NOW, She has her very own “cheerleader” in the form of Bets.

And as for Bets. She truly IS a “Wonder Woman.”

Now the real question is: “How many cheerleading terms can be used as metaphors for microeconomics?” Let’s see:

Cross-Price Elasticity of Demand—It’s like when a cheerleading outfit is stretched to its limits by the demands of the cheerleading stunt.

Increasing Returns to Scale – It’s like when you are at the top of the cheerleading pyramid, so you have to be the smallest weight possible, and so you keep going back to the scale to see if you have lost more weight.

Monopolistic Competition – It’s like when the cheerleading squad for the other school’s team only has one move and that’s to dance like a pole dancer.

Pareto Improvement – It’s like when you have to cheer in a holiday parade and your routine is better than it was in the last parade.

Relative Prices- That’s where you are fund-raising for a trip to cheerleading camp and most of the money you raised comes from your relatives.

What the heck is 9 to 2:2:1?? I get the pyramid base but the ratio lost me. I was a cheerleader and did a pyramid but this formula is lost on me.

So far Bets is pressing Tiff’s buttons right. She’s forcing Tiff into the right path towards total self – sufficience. That’s how she’ll beat Anne Awful at her own game. And no Gunthy anywhere in sight wo far.

I admit I never took geometry but that cheerleading routine sounds enough like geometry to me. Tiff understand that from a physical sense, but never thought it out rationally. My FAVORITE girl Bets will help her not only struggle through this course, but learn to realize she has a brain, and it can do wonderful things. She is working to support herself, going to school, getting friends who are “on her team” which is so important in college, this is very encouraging.

The Bets character is a sea change in the strip and I wonder just where they’re going with her.

The Gunther character has been starving for a simpatico female character – a girlfriend. Well now he has one. But will she end up as a manifestation of his smothering mother. Remember she’s the one that called “girlfriend-boyfriend.” She instigated and made the lingerie sale happen. She determined the terms of sale; the 50-50 split. She violated Gunther’s privacy with the embarrassing photo and uploaded it to “her” friends.

Tiffany had been crying out for a friend in her post high school, college world. She felt “lonely.” More specifically she expressed a need for a male friend. She did this in episodes in May and August of 2015. So have GnK provided her with a girlfriend now? That may help with the lonely part but there’s still the male friend lacking that the character desires. GnK have explored mainly Gunther in this role, so far.

So Bets sits here as a potential transformative character. But how will this play out for Gunther’s and Tiffany’s characters? For now, she’s driving the ship… uhhh… strip.

All we can do is “stayed tuned.” :"o)

This is actually really lucky timing on Greg’s part: Tiffany just tried to do the Spongebob “ight I’mma head out” meme. More topical than a comic strip usually manages to be.

Reasons Tiffany doesn’t need microeconomics: 1. She wants to do finger nails. She should concentrate on that. 2. The IRS has enough screw ups, don’t need any more. 3. Tiff is not meant for academics. She would be happier in her own little boutique (in my opinion). And, the biggest reason: Greg has never allowed her any happiness or success, why would he start now?
