the Russian mob has already set up business in Kentuck tidying up for his eminence’s arrival. Ft. Knox is the next point on Mitch’s tour guide of America to be had for a trifling.

In the 1930’s, as France was embroiled in social, political and economic turmoil, many (especially the wealthy) began to look toward the Fascist regimes of Germany and Italy, as the way to go, ending with the dissolution of the Third Republic and establishing the toady Vichy government. Collaboration, round-up of undesirables, shipments to concentration camps, etc. But, that couldn’t happen here! We’re Americans!

Only in America could a poor boy like Mitch, a distinguished veteran with 37 days of military service, who has only earned a taxpayer-paid salary his entire working life, manage to build a net worth of $22 million.

[Basil’s rant at an American guest draws the ire of one of his English guests]:

    Mr Johnston: I’m not satisfied

    Basil: What?

    Mr Johnston: I’m not satisfied

Basil: Well, people like you never are, are you?

    Mrs Johnston: What?

Basil: There is nothing I could do would please a pair like you, short of putting straw in the rooms.

Mrs Johnston: I think you’re the rudest man I’ve ever met.

    Basil: I haven’t started yet.

A tortoise and a bear walked down the street. As is wont, the tortoise lagged behind, so had to make many detours each time the bear dumped scat. “Couldn’t y’all maybe walk slower or eat less?” asked the tortoise.

Being obliging, the bear markedly dropped his pace as the unexpecting tortoise slammed into his ursine rear.

Being intelligent and observant, the bear had noticed the use of “or” rather than “and” and let nature take its course.

Moral of the story: Watch what you say and do, but if you can not then do select your perambulation partners carefully.

Oh, the election will be very safe and secure. How could it not be? Mr. McConnell is very keen on safe and secure elections. He’s saving the contributions to secure the election for the Reich – excuse me, I mean Right – candidates. /s

Enough with the Russia stuff already. The voter suppression and unauditable voting procedures are homegrown problems. At most, Putin is a hired hand. Without support from Republicans (and certain Democrats!), he could do nothing. Even this toon makes a nod to it; McConnell is a gatekeeper at the election “hotel”, and he’s no Russian.

This constant focus on Russia distracts from the worst perpetrators of election fraud; Americans.

Cambridge Analytica, the Mercers and Steve Bannon, came up with a tried and true method of massaging the vote through propaganda, delivered through social media. They know it works, they sell the product. I don’t see any of them suffering the consequences for meddling in our election.

The Russians attacked the foundation of our democracy. Those who swore to defend our republic against foreign and domestic enemies and refuse to do so must be charged with treason.

Moscow Mitch has pretty well destroyed the Republican party single-handedly. What’s left of it hardly counts as anything other than a cult bankrolled by kakistocrats. The question I have is whether he has also irremediably damaged our whole government. Quite a legacy he’s gonna be leaving…

I watched part of McConnell’s apologia yesterday. I noticed that he was anti-Russian when Russia was the USSR, a socialist country. Now that it’s an oligarchy run by wealthy plutocrats, he’s perfectly okay with that.

“Moscow Mitch” seems to be catching on and should be used everywhere. This new nickname drew a BIG reaction from McConnell so it will probably be effective against him in KY.

Unfortunately, too many people don’t have an attention span for statements longer than a bumper sticker. This is why they buy into simple slogans that don’t have any details and they don’t have the patience to pay attention to plans with details. That’s where you get the nimrods saying that the Dem plans are all about “free stuff”, they’re too lazy to read the details that are easily available on the Dems’ websites.
