Poor succotash. It is always suffering.

It has, at least been used in an expletive…

I have not had succotash in so many years that I can no longer remember the ingredients. But I like most vegetables – hot sauce helps a great deal – and I think it was okay if only slightly cooked. That way it retained a little texture. But that could be a false memory.

I remember succotash in the late 50s. You could buy it by the can and it contained only creamed corn and kidney beans. Recipes now-a-days all seem to have many more ingredients.

Succotash is the ultimate violation of the no foods touching principle. Like beans and rice or peas and carrots.

I’m with Petey. I like corn and string beans, but lima beans are on my No Thank You list.

Does it still ding your ratings if you sort out the corn, lima beans and peppers?

Any time that I hear succotash, I think of the old George Carlin bit, which shan’t be repeated here.

Succotash (from Narragansett sohquttahhash, “broken corn kernels”) is a culinary dish consisting primarily of sweet corn with lima beans or other shell beans. Other ingredients may be added including tomatoes, green or sweet red peppers, and okra. Wikipedia

Petey’s ranking has been sabotaged, probably by his rivals! This is so unfair!
