Exactly! Most people don’t realize just how precarious a situation we are in. It’s basically a lose-lose situation for us. The US has supported Mubarak since he took office/power 30 years ago. We’ve bribed him to keep the Suez Canal open so we can keep the price of oil down and so we can get our naval vessels in and out of the region quickly. He’s also kept the extremists at bay in Egypt and kept the peace with Israel. On the other hand, the poverty he’s not only allowed but also enabled is disgusting.

I agree with both of the above.
If soldiers were sent there it would look like we are occupying, like in Iraq and Afghanistan, and Vietnam, and it would make matters worse.
