No, Democrats do not hate America

Democrats love the United States and its freedoms, and have worked hard to ensure that all Americans — “we the people” that comprise America — are included in her blessings and benefits. Republicans have a lot of nerve to talk about hating America when they harbor such vicious hatred for half the people in it.

No, Democrats do not want open borders

But instead of building worthless walls as ego monuments to vain narcissists, we support, have funded, and legislated in favor of REAL SOLUTIONS that will actually address border security: addressing electronic monitoring of tourists/students to prevent visa overstays, electronic and high-tech border surveillance, including infrared, drones and other electronic monitoring that is far more effective than any wall, increased inspections of vehicles and cargo shipment containers that enter LEGALLY at border checkpoints, where there is not enough equipment or workers to complete adequate inspections and increased monitoring of entries through airports. Most important, Democrats have sought to address the CAUSES of illegal immigration at the source: U.S. actions in the 1980’s destabilized Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Honduras. Many coming here are indigenous Maya who do not want to leave their homes. Help re-stabilize what we broke and they won’t even want to come (Julián Castro’s “Marshall Plan” for Latin America).

No, Democrats are not socialists (not even Bernie)

We Democrats — even Bernie Sanders — support economic reforms more akin to New Deal Keynesian market economics that have always worked — that ended the Great Depression, prevented serious recessions for the next 50+ years (until Reagan) and led to decades of the greatest broad-based, middle-class prosperity in this nation’s history.

Why is socialism a bad word, even when written by an intelligent person like DD Wiz? In Holland there are not two, but twenty-seven parties, and they all get their say. Even the SP, the socialist party. They’re not strong enough to win elections, but their best ideas make it into government policies, for the better. And Holland, one of the best, free countries on this planet, is not alone in their ability to listen to more than one point of view. The average American (by definition of the word ‘average ‘, half of them are even dumber) , and I speak as a born and raised American, should try listening to others without pre-judging on the face value of a word.

Critical thinking is just too difficult for some. Much easier to blindly follow, especially if their hatred is shared by the group. “Common hatred unites the most heterogeneous elements. To share a common hatred, with an enemy even, is to infect him with feeling of kinship, and thus sap his powers of resistance.” True Believer by Eric Hoffer

Democrats are sociable, hate capitalist pig Americans, and want to reopen their local Borders bookstore.

Yeah, I can get on board with that.

“The Big Lie.” It was good enough for Adolf Hitler. It’s surely good enough for Donald J. Trump. Sieg Heil!

7 out of 10 republicans said they felt excited or buoyed by Trump’s racist remarks.

Trump and the Repubs are talking about the fractures in the Dem party. Different people having different opinions and ideas is a FEATURE of the Dem party, not a flaw.

I find it disgusting how the Repubs have warped the political process by refusing to bring bills up for a vote; Mitch won’t bring any House bills to the Senate, including the ones that are intended to secure elections. They have used the “Hastert Rule” named after someone who molested teen boys when he was their wrestling coach. They’ll hold votes open far longer than they’re supposed to so someone powerful can go around twisting arms (one of Cheney’s favorite things to do). Harry Reid changed the Senate filibuster rules because the Repubs used it as obstruction; they would delay EVERY Obama nominee and several were approved unanimously once they finally came up for a vote, proving that it was simply obstruction. Now the Repubs have eliminated every rule that protected the minority party, including (illegally?) limiting discussion time. Several of the judges they are putting in have NO courtroom experience.

It is sad that the Repubs will now back anything Trump wants, even if they know it is wrong. But Trump’s base is rabid, and the Repubs are afraid of the monster they created.

That’s what Trump does! I knew that from the beginning of his campaign! He is a grifter who hypnotizes weak minded voters!

Once people have been the subject of gaslighting, it is difficult — but not impossible — to ungaslight them. How gaslighting works and how to combat it is discussed in the link below.
