I quit driving years ago, but none of my cars ever had any technology in them. I was driving a car so old in the 90’s that it didn’t come with seatbelts as they were an optional feature when the car was built. I’m from Ontario and wearing seatbelts in vehicles that had them installed became mandatory in ’76.
I have one of those back up cameras in my car, and i rarely use it.
I have been looking over my shoulder when backing for so long that i find it uncomfortable relying on cameras. I don’t even use my mirrors for backing, unless don’t have any other choice.
Thank you High School Drivers Ed. I learned all my best driving habits there.
As the official co-pilot of our vehicle, I watch the back up camera to help MyMountainMan. There are a number of times that I can see what’s coming before he does. As far as the other stuff…………it sells cars.
Gotta have something to do in your self-driving car. 20 or so years ago, I was reading a sci-fi book, don’t remember the name, with self-driving cars in it. You had to input a code to get to your destination. As their adventure, the young people would “blind trip” by typing in a random code, and then wait to see where they would end up.

A bird with a small brain can manage to travel in three dimensions, yet us humans have difficulty navigating in two.

……….and if Smoky wants us to prevent wildfires, why are there no ashtrays? (I quit 25 years ago but I still see smokers out there)

As long as those mini-vans don’t start putting DVD player screens in the front!

The same reason they post “Don’t Drink and Drive” in a bar. If you drove there, and you are at a bar, don’t drink.
