Giving everyone in America a shot at being white house chief of staff for five minutes isn’t the same as creating jobs.
By the way, the pencil with two erasers should be the GOP tool for slashing and burning all the regulations which are…were in place to maintain public lands and fair business practices. Not to mention preventing rampant pollution and habitat destruction.
Trump’s “job wand” is a tax cut (capitalistic socialism) that blew a gigantic hole in the deficit, and in return, created some more minimally paying jobs for more people. Just wait until the bill comes due.
Gary, do you promote un-regulated, un-restrained Capitalism? We already know that Reagan’s “trickle-down” effect was, and is, a total farce. The “Job creators” only make work for yacht builders, mansion builders, tax lawyers and domestic servants. And you? All you do is applaud the Wealthy Elite, and get paid for it! Way to go, guy!
Let’s hope the underlying issue is being dealt with! The US Labor Force Participation Rate continues to remain low … which artificially lowers the unemployment as the unskilled drop out of the labor force and are not counted as unemployed. We must not be dependent on foreign H1B workers to do high tech jobs if we want to continue to be a 1st world country.
" During the last 50 years, labor market outcomes for men without a college education in the United States worsened considerably. Between 1973 and 2015, real hourly earnings for the typical 25–54 year-old man with only a high school degree declined by 18.2 percent,1 while real hourly earnings for college-educated men increased substantially. Over the same period, labor-force participation by men without a college education plummeted. In the late 1960s,nearly all 25–54 year-old men with only a high school degree participated in the labor force; by 2015, such men participated at a rate of 85.3 percent.
" There is one stubborn issue in the American labor force that the Federal Reserve has been powerless to fix with their monetary alchemy; the disappearance of prime working age men from the workforce. …"

When we teach students to write we tell them, consider your audience.
Gary, who is your audience?
The average left winger? Who is being attacked by your message? At least he will get the Harry Potter references.
The average right winger? Who your message supports, but probably hasn’t read a single Harry Potter book and probably hasn’t even seen one of the movies.
And, honestly, I am confused. Why even put the “Jobs Wand of Democratic Socialism” in the drawing?
Is your point to boast about Trump’s job record? Or compare/contrast to “Democratic Socialism”? You have to pick one, Gary. Which one’s it going to be? I’d go with the boast and erase the Democratic Socialism thing.
You don’t really want people to look to closely at how well Trump is doing, when compared to, let’s say, Obama. You might not get the answers you want.
Why do Democrats whine at the 3.7 percent unemployment rate (lowest since 1969)? And an added quarter of a million jobs just in June. These are impressive numbers by any standard
Obama cut the unemployment rate in half and cut the deficit in half. Trump cut the unemployment rate by 20% and raised the deficit by 50%. Clinton cut unemployment by 40% and turned a quarter trillion dollar deficit into a quarter trillion dollar surplus. Bush nearly doubled u employment and turned the surplus into a trillion dollar deficit.
Whatever this “Democratic socialism” is, the numbers say that Varvel’s not drawing an accurate picture of it.
80 million baby boomers will retire by 2030. 10,000 a day are retiring now. Job growth is a misnomer. WAGE growth is what’s needed. As a country 2% wage growth is down right horrible. As a country we are 30 years behind on wages.
me thinks varvel did not “read” the harry potter books….if he did then he did not understand the significance or ultimate fate of the “Elder” wand….poor varvel is a intellectual “crabbe” when it comes to potter mythology…

Mr. Varvel thinks the Rump is a magician. The only jobs the Rump creates with his wand are for his lawyers.

Let it be noted that Obama created more jobs and was criticized for not making more (all while being slowed down by the GOP).

Magic is considered evil by the bible thumpers.
Republican socialism is borrowing a trillion from China to give tax breaks to billionaires and cancelling Social Security and Medicare to pay for it.

We sure needed all those part time minimum wage jobs added. That way we can work two or three just to pay the rent.
