I don’t remember which scientist said this but I agree. Any civilization with the technology to travel here would very likely not be interested in us. Also, compared to even the size of our galaxy, the electro-magnetic sphere we are the center of is exceedingly small and we are practically invisible.
Why does everybody keep going on and on about UFO’s? Why wouldn’t the government admit they exist? Being “unidentified” means exactly that. It does NOT mean an extraterrestrial origin.

Many have wondered if the reason there seems to be no aliens out there is because they destroyed themselves, and suggested we might do the same.
But it was usually through ACTIVE means (like nuclear war) rather than passive stupidity!
