I wouldn’t give tips for a found earring. I would say a heartfelt thanks but that’d be it. A $10 tip is nuts. Finding and returning personal items should be a simple act of kindness which the world sorely needs. This act of kindness shouldn’t have a monetary value.

I love the way the strip faces the subject. It could have been a melodramatic scene, instead it remains in positives and amusing tones. Les with Tiffany acts like a better and nicer person. Tiffany is relaxed around him and knows he can be trusted. A rare positive friendzoning scene without tragedies! Excellent, really great.

Les apparently shaved for the 2nd frame, then re-grew his goatee for the last frame…

How soon will it be until TJ invokes a “No Tip Sharing” rule?

Panel #2 also is symbolic of Tiff’s impression of what Les has to offer in his seduction attempt.

OK, the ten for returning the earring was a REWARD, not a tip. Why does she have to split that with him?

Its clear that Les and Tiffany are friends, and I think sincere,within bounds. Tiffany knows his past in high school, after all, particularly with his bullying of her life-long friend Gunther (wait MD, I will comment on this in a sec), but now he is living with Gunther, and she is estranged from her dad, who is this/close to his felonious mom. They both are estranged from their one remaining (apparently) parent. I don’t think it would be a bad idea for there slowly to be friendship blossoming in romance for these two. Okay Mordy (MD) hear me out on this. I believe people can improve, and slowly a more improved version of both Les and Tiffany is emerging. Neither has any real hint of romantic life, both are tossed together by circumstances over which they have no control. Gunther looks to be all set (I sincerely hope) with romance, Bets I think is a major character development, and while Gunther will still be Gunnie, he will be one with a smile a lot more often. I have a feeling that is where these arcs are slowly developing. Try not to blow up MD. I think it would be a good match eventually.

Ok why haven’t Les and Tiffany figured it out yet? Don’t get me wrong, way to go Tiffany for being independent but if she pretended to date Les, her dad would be seriously reconsidering being with Anne.

This arc continues to entertain me and improve; both characters seem to be doing well. Good to see that Tiffany’s sale of her lingerie plus her job is helping her financially almost enough to continue in school (even though school was originally her father’s requirement for her.) Maybe she will be able to switch to a business major and a good life without having to depend on daddy…

Right on cue, Les makes his play.

Why do I get this sudden feeling that Les IS gonna find a girlfriend? My nominee is…Bernice. It will begin with her viewing him as a case study.

Wow…. Les was featured in a way that was funny and pleasant!

I am glad that Tiffany gave no credence to the idea of moving into the “Gulag”. I hope she keeps up that resolve…… I personally think it would be a horrendous plot development having Tiffany share the “Gulag” with Les and Gunther. Blech.

It is rather late in the morning to have had no post yet from Mordy. Hope all is well. Maybe his percolator broke… and he is on a bleary-eyed road trip to Starbucks or some such location? :)

i’m really glad to see Tiffany focused on her goals. Her rebuff of Les’s offer relieves (for now) any fears we might have had of her becoming romantically involved with Les.

I wonder how they’re planning on dealing with the minimum wage issue here, not to mention the taxes. The dishwasher presumably has the higher minimum wage applicable because he does not rely on tips for his income at that job, while the server is getting a lower minimum wage because she does rely on tips.
