I don’t think Adam was the first man. (Not to open the creation vs evolution debate, just explaining what that book actually says). Mankind was created on the sixth day with all the other creatures. Adam was created on the eighth day, after God rested (on the seventh). Adam was simply the first of the seed line through which would come the Messiah.

Heh, I am not sure you want to argue theology with Non Sequitur, thebird55. I think it is meant to be humorous, not deep. This post might be better spent in a different comment thread.

That’s why I pointed out that the theology part wasn’t my point, just that the book itself is widely misinterpreted. I mean, most of the very people who claim to believe this book don’t understand what they are reading. The first few verses in the book are some of the most misunderstood. I’m not asking people to believe it, just pointing out that it is a lot less crazy sounding when properly interpreted.

Why apple, Bdaysuit? There’s nothing in Genesis about an apple.

Where did you come up with the idea of an apple?

Love this strip! But @thebird55: Where did you find an 8th day in the bible? There were 6 days of creation, on the last of which Adam and Eve were created, and then God rested from creating on the 7th day, which hasn’t really ended yet (at least, not as far as I can find anywhere in the Book).

thebird55 points out the problem: the phrase when properly interpreted. The anti abortionists killing doctors and the suicide bombers blowing up innocents have both interpreted their “book” in a way that justifies their actions.

How did Adam get so out of shape so soon? Or was that the original image of man? If so, it’s disturbing!

Y’know, it’s been pointed out before that this strip is curiously anti-male in its sentiment, and here is another example. We have the first man ever created, and he looks like a “lounge lizard” rather than a well-kempt Tom Brady.

Think about it Habanero. Would the joke work if Adam looked like a “well-kempt Tom Brady?” Not remotely. Eve would be all over him like a duck on a Junebug. In this case, the male must look a bit less than stellar. I don’t think Wily is male bashing.

Evolutionists say the first human woman( neo-cortex development implied) came 2500 years before the first human male. This is really funny and incredibly foolish if you know anything about breeding animals. If you have a developmental trait, like the neo-cortex, you need to cross breed two with the trait to to “fix” it and do it over several successive generations to be certain it is “fixed.”. Difficult trick with a gap of 2500 years. Whereas the Bible says they both arrived at the same time and definitely suggests the generations cross bred.

Seems the naturalist priests that pass as evolution scientists are more insistent on keeping the Bible out of their “facts” than admitting it was correct in this instance, too. One suspects they merely stopped following their “evidence” a little early.

There are MANY funnies by Wiley regarding Adam and Eve in the garden and quite a few with just Adam and his dog sitting in lounge chairs eating pizza and drinking beer in the garden.

They are all just to be FUNNY… you know just FUNNNNNYY. It’s the funny’s folks……

Brockie you said, “Eve was no prime rib either.” I don’t think you realized that you had made a pun…. since according to the bible, Eve was created out of one of Adam’s ribs!

If Eve came from Adam’s rib- were their “procreative acts” homoerotic, or simple narcissism? No wonder the whole race is so screwed up.

Wow, night, thanks for not explaining that at all. Read about breeding and fixing traits. The neo-cortex could appear from time to time as an evolutionary accident, but to FIX it as a permanent feature would require two, male and female , and a series of a few generations interbreeding. IF that’s what their DNA test was for. I doubt that was their aim.
