Sounds about right! It is a changing world whether we like it or not, some things are changing for the good, others maybe not so much, but thats the price you pay for advancements in technology, development, and that there’s a whole lot of other people who want to live here too regardless of race or creed, or beliefs. We may not like or approve of everything that happens but we should all try to get along as best we can in the short span of time we all get to spend here on this planet. It may not be the perfect America many envisioned for but it sure beats a lot of other places that I’ve seen both in person and on television.

I think much of the conflict in this issue boils down to what conservatives mistake in their own resistance and what the gay community misconstrues as intolerance. It seems to me what the former really object to isn’t gay lifestyle choices, but rather having their noses forcibly rubbed in those choices on a daily basis. Traditionalists are mistaking the short-circuiting of their hardwired personal sexual preferences as a universal imperative to resist the preferences of others. Perhaps if the activist gay community backed off its militantly aggressive in-your-face approach to acceptance, it might trigger less ostensibly homophobic ranting coming from the right.
