Had one try to claim their car was impounded and the lot attendant was keeping their kids as well as their car until they came back with the money to get their car out. Soon as I offered to go to the parking lot with them and take care of the bill they started making excuses and saying they would get a friend to help them.
You..We.. don’t owe them a cent but no reason you can’t look at or even wish them a good day. I suspect.. a lot of them make more in a couple of hours than they would by working a real shift.

My mother used to carry bags of snacks to hand out. An amazing percentage of those folks weren’t really hungry.
