Don’t you find it hard to believe that in this day and age there are still people who believe that they can solve all of their political problems by instigating a war against a foreign power…… Sheesh… When will these chicken hawk warmongers learn the hard lessons of the past???

They are incapable of learning from the past. We supported and encouraged (and profited from) the brutal Batista regime in Cuba. They rose up with Castro as their leader to overthrow him. Now they hate us. We overthrew the government of Iran and put a brutal dictator in his place. They rose up with Khomeini as their leader and overthrew him. Now they hate us. Both Castro and Khomeini ended up as dictators, but they are THEIR dictators, which makes them martyrs and heroes for opposing the big bad USA. Politicians keep making our beds for us, but we all have to lie in them.

@Sad&Confusedix9: The warmongers know something that most people are unaware of: no war-time president has ever been defeated in re-election.

The ONLY reason the US invaded Iraq during the Bush II reign was to secure his re-election.

My prediction: Trump will start a war (likely with Iran) in order to secure his re-election in 2020 (“Only I can win the war!”).

Operation Ernest Will/Operation Sea Bait.I was there when we caught an Iranian warship, the Iran Ajr, LAYING MINES in the Gulf. I was part of the unit that captured the ship. Later, the Iranians fired a Chinese-made SS-N-2 missile which hit the Sea Isle City while it was moored in KUWAITI waters. I was there when we attacked and destroyed an former oil platform the Iranians were using a weapons platform to threaten the Strait of Hormuz. I remember the the other ships that fell victim to Iranian mines, including the USS Samuel B. Roberts. This is all I can say about what I know. The rest remains classified.

Any one who thinks Iran is innocent is fucking STUPID! Iran de facto declared war on the USA in 1979. The attack on our embassy and the kidnapping of our embassy staff was NOT some spontaneous bullshit. It was planned in advance and arms were supplied. It remains an act of war under the Vienna Diplomatic Accords of 1934, to which Iran is a signatory. Iran was behind the truck bombings of our embassy in Beruit and the Airport building where Marines were garrisoned. They used a proxy, Hezb’ollah, but Iran supplied the weapons, training and funding needed to carry out the attacks.I could go on, but if you cannot even BEGIN to believe that Iran is doing these latest attacks, then nothing will convince you otherwise. “But, Iran denied the attacks!” Yeah. Just like they DENIED the Iran Ajr even AFTER SHE WAS CAPTURED IN THE ACT! Iran lies about nearly everything.

America’s not perfect. I’ll be the first to admit to that. Iran is NOT any sort of victim in this. They started this war 40 years ago and have no desire to end it. The “Supreme” Ayatollah is a demented, hate-filled asshole who has no regard whatsoever for how many Iranians may soon die if they push us too far.

One final point of note. The so-called “Revolutionary Guard Corps” is very like the German SS in that the IRGC does NOT answer to anyone in the government. Their loyalty is directly to the "Supreme L

BTW: when I was in ‘Nam, they were still harvesting latex, and more importantly, drilling for and producing OIL in the Tonkin Gulf (FINA). Then there were the minerals and timber(stripped off by Japanese mostly since I was there in 67), natural resources were the reason for our entry into ‘Nam. Now they’re one of our biggest trading partners, and an irony, Viet Nam is producing parts for Bell/Textron helicopters, latest version of my Huey.
