It is tiresome to see the continual rhetoric about the “dangers of socialism”. Those that push this obviously do not understand how regulation of corporations and social programs can be included in a capitalistic economy to support the PEOPLE. A strong society is one that has affordable access to healthcare, education, food and housing.
Repubs want to socialize the risks and costs for corporations while they privatize their profits. Amazon and Netflix didn’t pay any federal taxes and probably very little in local taxes. Amazon in particular uses up a lot of resources – roads, water, police and fire – without paying for them. Fossil fuel companies destroy the environment, yet they don’t ever have to pay for the clean-up.
