I used to do tech support, a woman called and couldn’t figure out why she could not get online. After about 10 minutes on the phone it turns out her cat hit the ‘stand by’ button on the modem.
It’s useless and cruel to punish a dog unless you actually catch them in the act. Unless they can associate the correction with the unwanted act, they have no idea why you’re treating them as you are.
My wife (RIP) and daughters think they can read minds, too bad Opal can’t. Ergo, my penchant for interrupting to say, “How about you let me finish my sentence?”
Reminds me of an old Polaroid camera commercial where the dog kept getting blamed for all the messes the cat kept making. The dog finally takes a picture of the cat in action and shows it to his mistress and she says “Oh,dear” .
When I met my hubby he had a dog and 7 cats. Mr. Bo Jangles, the dog (shep/collie mix) was an angel. The cats however, did get into a lot of mischief. We never ever blamed Mr. Bo for what they did. In fact one day poor Mr. Bo was on the table looking out the window….we opened the door and all the cats took off as they broke the slats again on the door we put up on the opening to the kitchen and that was it off the door came and then they were interested anymore LOL And yes my hubby got poor Mr. Bo off the table.

Cats are evil. I always assume they did it, no matter what it is. For instance, my neighbour’s cat once stole my car. I assume.
