I never agreed with Cheney for a single second. I think he’s one of the most greedy and well, evil people to ever come so close to the presidency. He has lots (LOTS!) of blood on his hands and will certainly have more in the future because of what his decisions triggered.
But I can’t make fun of a person undegoing that kind of life-threatening surgery. I just can’t.
@FrenchMaid You’re obviously a sweet lady, but a villian does not cease to be a villian just because he’s sick. Mostof them are sick in one way or another to start with.
The Bush administration is getting to be ancient history.Need another scapegoat.
We’d love to find a “scapegoat,” but the fact is Bush/Cheney did more damage than can be cleaned up or repaired in just 4 years.
Don’t worry, though, as the progress to correct the Bush/Cheney blunders drags on and on, the blame will slowly shift to Boner and the Neo-Reich as they strive to counter everything anyone tries to do to get the country working again.
I understand your revulsion at this reaction, but Cheney de-humanized himself when he made it clear that he was aware that he authorized practices cited by the world as “torture,” and he expressed no remorse for any of it, whatsoever.
Fundamentally, with all his dirty deals, connections, and outright vile actions, he has cleansed himself of any human attributes, and made himself nothing more than a breathing characature, embodying everything everything anyone has ever admitted to hating about conservativism.
He did so willingly, of his own free will, and he is damned in history for it, even if he is never tried for his crimes against humanity.
Bush/Cheney/Rumsfield - three people who abandoned their humanity for the sake of power. Torturers have to dehumanize their victims, so with that in mind, Cheney’s acts only confirmed what an evil troika that was. And keep in mind that Cheney has lifetime medical paid for by taxpayers, while his party tries to destroy what little progress was made on healthcare for those same taxpayers.
I’ve never been able to associate anything connected with Cheney “humorous”- since he was on Ford’s staff. He and Rumsfeld ARE the real “string pullers” behind most foul things attributed to administrations since that time. Two of a kind, and they aren’t “jokers”. (Unless you consider Heath Ledger’s last role.)
Cheney shot his friend in the face, not the heart.
They were at a drive-thru hunting lodge.
You drive up, get out of the limosine, and shoot doves that have just been released.
RV I’m an American, so according to your logic as displayed in your comments to our fair Maid, I have no right to comment on the goings-on in other countries. That being the case, what the hell are we doing commenting on Iran, North Korea, even France and Germany etc, etc, not to mention the “comments” we’re making on Iraq and Afganistan. Or is it only foreigners who are forbidden to comment?

^ I sincerely doubt that.
Still would be cooler if he had like some kind of cybernetic heart.

jmattadams probably thinks Glenn Beck is soooo smart.
BTW, Cheney wouldn’t mind having a Pakistani heart either….and what OTHER wars are we in? Oh yeah… there’s Yemen too.

Sorry, I still can’t make fun of Cheney. Not for his sake, but for his family’s.

If Republicans had allowed stem cell research, maybe Cheney could grow a new heart, or repair tissue in a petrie dish.

Cheney needs a heart – quick, notify the Wizard of Oz! He’ll fix him up with something as phony as he deserves.

“If Cheney were to install a “Human” organ his body would no doubt completely reject it, regardless, like Darth Vader.”
That’s what I was going with… though I think Darth Vader still had a human heart.rockngolfer about 13 years ago

Quite a trio. All Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld needed was someone to play Dorothy.

Being sick doesn’t make Cheney a better person, being dead won’t either.
