As Paul Krugman has pointed out, nobody is urging Trump to slap tariffs on this, that, and t’other, it’s just the Voice of Binky in his head. He seems to think tariffs solve all problems (even when you call them off minutes after announcing them, and then announce them again).
It’s a well-known fact that businessmen hate uncertainty more than anything, even more than taxes. Proof if proof were necessary that Trump himself is no “businessman”, rather than a third-rate grifter and a wannabe mob boss.
