At two hours for ten candidates each night, I’m sure they’ll each get to make their case. Elizabeth Warren is the heavy hitter the first night, and Bernie and Biden the second, chosen by a random draw.
How about giving the moderator(s) the ability to turn off the lights and microphones to any candidate who strays from the question asked to make a point on an unrelated issue? Same for a candidate who won’t stay behind his own podium? Same for a candidate who tries to interject during another speakers’ turn?
In other words, let’s model “debates” after the Gong Show.
Now, let me get this straight. There are going to be a bunch of pithy people trying to pith on everything, hoping to be the leading pither, so the voters can be thoroughly pithuated. And they’re going to pith on us until we have elected the best pither??
