Tiny has used to courts to discourage, wear down and impoverish his investors and business partners when his projects tanked – as most of the did and the rest will. Now, he thinks that he can use the courts to delay or stop impeachment. Aint it wonderful to have a leader with such an understanding of our governmental system, the rule of law, and our constitution.
And we know how well supply-side economics has worked for this country with tax cuts for the rich. What’s a tariff? It’s a tax imposed by a nation on goods that move across the border (either way). Its effect (for tariffs on inbound goods) is to raise the price of that incoming material, which price must be passed to the consumer or the importer will go out of business (if it’s “raw material” the ultimate price is multiplied by the markup added at each stage of the manufacturing process). And the result of the price going up is that local manufacturers can charge more for their products, which now have less price competition than before, but also consumers will seek out some other way to get the value they want, likely by switching to some other products. (Price of gasoline or cars goes up? More people riding mass transit or bicycling. Price of beef goes up? More people eating chicken, pork or fish, or going meatless more often.)
So how can we get a parallel effect on a desire to impeach? Basically by raising the cost to impeach. The very best way, of course, is to make the price very high by doing nothing that seems impeachable. But hiring (thugs) to make investigations difficult or dangerous could work, as could making sure that investigators cannot get their hands on your papers. And guess what: He’s already doing that!
