Women’s clothing has been fiddling with their sizes for years—at least since I grew out of children’s sizes. Originally, I think it was for vanity — small women liked the idea of wearing ‘small’ sizes and large women didn’t like the idea of being ‘XXX’ instead of ‘X". But anymore it can’t be to assuage women’s vanity because last year’s size 22-24 has this year’s 26-28 — at least in some brands. And it isn’t just different brands that have different sizes. Buying jeans with the same style code, the same size, from the same brand, but in different colors, one pair can have a waist 2 inches larger than the other because they were made in different factories.
I have extra large shirts that are old. They fit perfectly. If I buy new extra large shirts, they’re too small or tight. I believe companies are cutting back on quality to make more shirts?
I used to wear a size 10 1/2 shoe and now I wear a 12 but my old ones still fit me, I contacted one of the companies and they said they changed the way they size them.
I have the same problem. I think those Little Aliens use a Shrink Ray to shrink my clothes and distract me so they can Steal those Missing Socks. Why can’t they take both instead of just one? Then I would forget I had them due to my Old Farts Disease “CRS” and not worry about them. You-All Have a Great Day and Be Safe !
I just read this morning that after years of the “average” American woman being a size 14, that “average” has gone up to somewhere between 16 & 18. You wouldn’t know it from the preponderance of what I call the “tiny sizes” (generally 6-14) in the average store!

I love Gloria Vanderbilt’s petite stretch jeans. A local chain store had a store wide sale. Found my size, style and four different colors. Wow. Bought all four without trying them on. The first I put on at home swamped me. Then tried the second – couldn’t get my foot in the leg; third – the legs too short; and the fourth – legs too long. Same company, same style, but made in four different Asian countries. Learned, no matter how well something fit perfectly for years, try on at the store.By the way, haven’t bought GV jeans for six years.

On the contrary, a size 10 is much larger than it used to be. It makes the buyer as feel as though we are not as fat as we really are.

I have extra large shirts that are old. They fit perfectly. If I buy new extra large shirts, they’re too small or tight. I believe companies are cutting back on quality to make more shirts?

I purchased some underwear recently, ‘M’ from an American company and ‘L’ from a European one. The ’M’s are about 2" bigger!

past decade or so, quality of clothing is made so they disintegrate after only a few washings.
