I suspected long sleeves might have some purpose. I just use short sleeved shirts unless it drops down in the twenties (Fahrenheit scale) for very long but I forgot to worry about strawberry jam and such…too careful to waste any on my face.
I was at SeaWorld (San Diego) on a hot summer day years ago watching the Shamu show. They invited a little boy up to feed Shamu some fish by grabbing it from a bucket and placing it on Shamu’s tongue. When the boy was done he stood there looking at his smelly hands. The trainer said “Yucky huh? Go like this.” and wiped his hands on his shirt. The boy did just that and the audience let out a collective groan that probably could’ve been heard all the way across the bay! SeaWorld did right by the family because we saw them later and the boy had on a new souvenir shirt they had given him.
