Going back to my grade school days, I’m having trouble parsing this. It appears that bang-bang is the verb, and finger is the adverb of manner. Clearly, I’m trying to solve a hundred watt problem with a fifty watt brain. It’s not likely I’ll sleep tonight.
The Conscript Fathers are pondering, which is the greater crime, wanton finger bang-bang murder of a puppet or grievously florid grammar? And where in this ungodly mess does a misspelled wonton fit (if such a thing is “fit” at all)?
