If you can’t beat them, join them. I never went through that anti-girl phase. I have to admit that for the first decade plus a couple of years, I was totally disinterested in them but they were never “the enemy” and I did not fear catching cooties from them. They were just, well, girls.
Get used to it. Trying to be better than a woman, esp your wife, is an exercise in futility. Just accept the loss and move on. You did the right thing….you made them happy.
