If it’s ancient Egypt, shouldn’t the Pyramid be finished in polished limestone with smooth sides and a golden capstone?
The mighty scarab is modeled after that diligent dung beetle they likened a giant golden one that moves the sun the way the ball of dung was rolled by natural ones.

Egyptian mythology is full of animal-gods. Greek has humanoid gods with animal familiars (e.g., Athena’s owl, Zeus’s eagle, Poseidon’s bull).
Just avoid duplicates!
