Except trump has no clue as to how tariffs work, and he won’t listen to those who do. Textbook Dunning–Kruger effect. And he torpedoed every multilateral trade deal we had, making us more economically isolated. This will not end well.

China does run trade deficits with certain nations. Study these trade agreements and see what they are doing instead of imposing tariffs.
