I wonder if the other pubs in town also asked Andy to stay away for the afternoon.

Today’s strip IS funny our Hero Mr Andrew Capp being paid to stay away from the pub so that it can get a good rating is priceless , but why can’t Andy drink beer instead of a cuppa when he stays home? :o) right? have a nice day Cappers , I will because I will have been free from smoking or wanting to since Sunday the 25th of September 2017

A couple of reasons, not the least of which is he knows full well he’ll get his money back. Every cent.

Sybil should’ve paid Basil to keep away from Fawlty Towers when the hotel inspectors came by…….

Why didn’t Andy just go to a different pub and spend Jack’s money?

@ƹʅɗʘ Why don’t you post your complete list of pubs mentioned in this strip?

Back to the quit smoking tales: I quit smoking about 1970. Don’t remember the exact date. I had been smoking 20 plus years at that time. I am an old fart. My system of quitting was simple and has worked for others as well. It is (drum roll please) I made a solemn promise to myself that I would no longer smoke and would keep that promise no matter what. I had a few difficult days at first but I kept that promise.

How did Jack know to keep Andy away? I thought those people would show up unannounced to get a real impression of the pub.
