The repubs have zygote sized brains. Courts are ruling against their gerrymandering, and the repubs are angering most of the female voters. If they are reelected, you guys deserve them.

And don’t you even think of going out of state (unless you’re very well off).

Gawd, how are they going to enforce this?

My company had a fall conference scheduled in Atlanta; I moved it to Orlando. I know the loss of a couple hundred hotel rooms won’t change any Georgia GOP minds, but what they did was wrong.

It’s a shame a proviso can’t be added to all these laws mandating that any elected official who votes for or signs one is required to personally provide prenatal care to the mother and then adopt every one of these unwanted pregnancies at birth. And then it just keeps cycling them on a duty rotation for as long as the statute remains on the books.

Ohio, Georgia, Alabama & other states have taken away choice by closing clinics, by making the woman wait, by lecturing the woman about the “baby”, actually fetus/embryo. Patriarchy fears strong, independent women thus the old white men are going overboard with their misogynistic laws/policies. (As we all understand, the rich, including the politicians, will ship their mistresses, daughters, wives off to countries that still live in the 21st century to handle the “mistakes”.) Chomping on the bit to get a case in front of the 5 misogynistic Supeme Court justices. Democrats have not paid attention to the nefarious plans of the GOP these past decades. Time for us to take state governments, legislatures and governors, blue with rights and equality for all.

I may not condone abortions, but Governor Kemp has gone too damn far this time! He knows he has no business interfering with women’s lives and the right to choose.

Georgia did this to itself. After all, it could have been Stacy Abrams in the governor’s seat. Congrats (or something), Georgia.

No Trump Disciple comments about how great this law is? How it’s Making Georgia Great Again?

Nothing about how all abortion is murder and how everyone connect with it is to be put to death?

Nothing, even, about how sinful Those People are?

If men could get pregnant, abortion would be a sacrament. Handmaid’s Tale is supposed to be a work of dystopian fiction, not a manual for governance.

Methinks these conservative states should quickly outlaw Viagra®, Cialis®, and similar medications if they really want to reduce abortions. Ya know, nip it in the bud!

Curiously, Forced-Birthers don’t care about law or morality. They used to favor murdering abortion doctors, until that became too dangerous to the murderers. They used to favor bombing abortion clinics, until that became too dangerous to them. They still favor lying to women and to the public about the medical facts related to abortion. And so on.

They don’t care that criminalizing abortion has been struck down in the courts over and over again, and even with the current Supreme Court is likely to continue to be struck down over and over again. They don’t care that the only known way to reduce the number of abortions is to support genuine sex education and access to birth control, in the US and worldwide. They don’t care that the US abortion rate goes down under Democratic Presidents, who understand all of this, and does not under posturing Republicans.

They complain that genuine health care puts bureaucrats between women (well, everybody) and their doctors, and they want to put themselves between women (well, everybody) and their doctors.

They don’t care what the Bible says about hypocrites, either.

I was talking to my niece yesterday about this horrible, repugnant law. Her view is that Republicans are pushing all of these horrible laws because they know they will be challenged in court. They’re betting at least one will make it to SCOTUS, which Trump has stacked with conservatives, and then wind up with a ruling that basically overturns Roe vs. Wade.

Georgia legislators have effectively signed their own death warrants as the penalty for ending their own feeble heartbeats is not much different from the one they’ve proposed.

Where is this overwhelming evidence that we must force every woman who is found to be pregnant, regardless of circumstances, to have no say in whether the pregnancy should continue? Do we have the facilities in place to care for the infant if the woman does not survive or is not physically, emotionally, or financially able to provide essential care? Surely this is not just inspired by an emotional cultish desire to turn a democracy into a Muslim-like theocracy at a time when we are depleting the world’s resources (especially food, clean air, and water) faster than they can be replenished?

It’s so interesting that a woman can’t have her tubes tied until she reaches a certain age or until she has had a certain number of children or until her husband agrees to it but there is no such law regarding male sterilization. My husband was ASTOUNDED that this double standard existed.Just goes to show you that many men (and women) don’t realize the burdens put on women’s bodies.

America could stop all abortions any time it wanted to by providing free birth control and proper sex education.

    Sorry, was that too reasonable?
