Is this a repeated story line? I’m deja vuing on Nelson shaving his head and looking like Earl’s mini me.
That’s right, Nelson… more snarls.
He should shave it all off and dribble a basketball when he meets his mom.
She’s going to say “Oh, no! What has your grandpa done now?” thinking the whole thing was Earl’s idea.
Nelson doesn’t seem too upset, however, when his MOTHER sees him, it will be a different story.
Maybe Nelson should wear a baseball cap until his hair grows back
Does that kid ever go home??
“A little carried away”? Dude, you made yourself looks like a blonde version of your grandfather!
“Nelson the trend setter…”
I’ve given busloads of little boys buzz cuts over the years…. and plenty of grown men, as well.
I can’t say I like it, but that’s what they want.
As I tell the mothers who fret, or argue with the kid about the length…. hair grows about half an inch a month…
So you take Nelson in for a very short (#1) buzz ….
it’ll grow out to a #2 by next week, and a #4 in three weeks…..
In a month or two, it’s just a summer haircut….
When it looks shaggy, get the back and sides trimmed.
by August, you’d never know this happened.
Hair is a very renewable resource…. not worth a fight.
Grandma’s outfit is switched. Black top speckled skirt, now black skirt speckled top.
Of all the odd things kids do with their hair to be different, you’ll never seen this style.
This series is in one of his books, although this particular strip is not in it.
She is going to say: You are starting to look more and more like my father…
Why not just shave the other hair off? Being completely bald looks better than that. Opal should do the same to Earl.
No, like when my older brother got a Mohawk - “don’t worry, it’ll grow back.” That was in the early ‘50s but now we’re both bald.
“Youth is wasted on the young.” Attributed variously to G.B. Shaw, Oscar Wilde, and others.
Remember the old commercial:" NO more tangles no more tears!"
She’s going to say “Good grief!”
