    What a dog-eat-cat day.

If that wasn’t Cybil, it was must have been owned by Bob Geldof and the Boomtown Rats.

That is totally Garfield who got eaten.

And I must added that that monster will suffer from high cholestorol level afterward.

That mini-stegoraurus-like pet with the platelets down its back should actually be a vegetarian, not a carnivore…so, Cybil, pull yourself together and offer the critter some tasty grasses.

I think it’s Garfield, too. Note the break in on the left side of the strip, and Lio seems to be directing his pet back towards home.

Yet another rare comic that made me laugh. I can’t wait to get a job so I can keep a copy of this strip in my cubicle.

Married to the cat whisperer, I have to start comparing Mark and Lio to Mike Vick. There are clowns out there that treat cats exactly this way and no one is crying to hang them from their thumbs. Getting your gas at the Double Standard Station, Tatulli?

Except one is a cartoon about a cartoon (Garfield) and the other is a cartoon about real life.

Did Mark kill any cats? Did Vick kill any cartoons?

I don’t know which is funnier, the comic or the attack on the cartoonist (artist?) above. Trying to compare a real world example (Vick) with a comic character (Garfield, and the artist’s use of it) is absurd. Frankly, I would have preferred Jeffery instead of Garfield getting it but I’m Canadian. For the future : looking for a good Lio/Pearls Before Swine cross-over bonanza!

“I love good inter-comics interaction. Can Davis avenge Garfield’s treatment?”

Davis does Garfield around six to ten months in advance. If he does respond, look for it somethime around next Hallowe’en.

Eric: Mark started it with his Vick comic. Seen by itself, this is merely one artists somewhat tasteless statement. However if you are going to preach not hurting one type of animal then you don’t put out a comic that shows killing another kind of animal as a joke. That lacks consistency and dilutes the Vick comment. It was not an attack. Merely a statement of truth.

Maybe if Vick had killed kittens instead of sicing dogs on each other you’d have let him off?

If it makes you feel better, freeholder, Garfield really acts more like a person, so you can think of Mark as having the death of a person as the center of the joke. That should save on the double-standard fee.
