In the last national elections progressive candidates sent lots of Republicans down, and a whole lotta corruption has been exposed since then.
The next national elections will present us with a straightforward choice. It’s not even about party politics — Trump is not a Republican, but he can take the party down with him — it’s about American ideals.
Unless something changes in the pattern since the summer of 2015, the analogy carries through motivation by self inflicted loss through unmoored society all the way to this Leviathan swamping our Ship of State..
Where is the captain of our Republic to save us from a Hobbesian nightmare?
It appears that our captain is named Nancy and she is steering a very, very careful course in attacking (impeaching) Moby Don. I hope her course is the right one, because she will not receiving any help from the other whaler on the scene, Captain Mitch.
Comparable to the endless partisan investigations against Obama and Hillary that turned up nothing. Except, of course, they did not interfere with the investigations like Trump did.
Gee whiz, too bad that they are trying to SAVE THE COUNTRY from a TRAITOR, Ariail. Wonder if you ever thought of this metaphor for the endless, pointless, and expensive Benghazi investigations…or Whitewater…
Stop pretending that there was nothing in that report, and as if it was all a product of our collective imaginations. Just because Barr was tasked by Donnie to make his problem go away doesn’t mean it was a just and correct action.
He’s big and he’s definitely white. And he’s claiming that all those harpoons are mere pinpricks and mean nothing while also continuously complaining about how much they’ve made it impossible for him to do his job (Didja see the one where he’s saying he’s lost 2 years of his presidency to this BS so he shouldn’t even have to run again, or maybe should get three terms?).
Bottom line: The only real lie in this ’toon is that the Donkey is tangled up. Not really: Just moving with care.
Do the Republicans posting here ever consider that not everyone else is driven by tribal partisan politics, even if they are? That maybe those of us who are opposed to Trump are doing so because of his actions, not because of his party?

“I have all the best people.” Best people Michael Cohen has been disbarred and is reporting to jail today.
This “summary” that Trump’s current Michael Cohen, aka Bill Barr, put out has already been debunked by the report’s author who enumerated several incidents of criminal activity for Congress to act on, as stipulated in that document the Republican’s claim to love, but work hard to undermine, the Constitution.
I found it so ironic that Karl Rove’s stated strategy of projecting onto your opponent your greatest weaknesses has become rule #1 of GOP debate. If there is anyone who suffers from Trump Derangement Syndrome, it is his supporters.

Fair analogy, at least to a point. Both Dems and Ahab motivated by hate and revenge for a loss largely of their own doing.

Republicans HATE the whole concept of oversight, except when they use it to damage the poll numbers of opponents.

This cartoon is an insult to all cetaceans everywhere, and especially the Russian-trained beluga seeking asylum in Norway.

Hey, wait a minute, I don’t recall Captain Ahab wearing buckle shoes. So this toon must be fake!
