I’m afraid that having idiots using semi-automatic fire arms to solve the problems of their mind has been “normal” in our fair land since the University of Texas tower shooting – and maybe before.
One brave student prevented more deaths. He lived the saying: greater love hath no man, than that he give up is live for another. Our sympathy to the family. He will be remembered.
This exemplifies the binary thinking of the ReTrumpliKKKan party. If you want to take away assault rifles from mass murderers, it means you want to take all guns away from law-abiding citizens.Somebody has to LOSE under the ReTrumpliKKan way of thinking and it must be the “other guy.”
I am surprised that Trump didn’t tweet, “If they had a 50-caliber machine gun at the synagogue entrance, it would not have happened. If they had guard towers on campus, this would not have happened.”
And if you had lived a couple blocks farther west when you were in Cincinnati you would have recognized this as the way things were back then. Address is everything.
Being afraid and believing that a gun will protect you is not and never has been normal. Fear is a political tool that coupled with disinformation is preventing us from being as great as we could be. No one envies a society whose people do not trust and respect each other and feel that a gun designed to kill is a necessary part of one’s life. Feeling insecure is a sign of poor leadership and division … a situation that is not normal. Ignorance and political propaganda seem to breed fear that is truly dangerous … sad to see politicians that desperate.
“New” ?.. Since the trump’s rhetoric the “Wild West” attitude displayed in the “B” grade movies has only gotten worse and shooting(s) is mere collateral damage along the way to maintaining the trump frenzy.
Such a gallant soul … to be forced to choose between his own life and the life .. the lives of his fellow schoolmates … we are all deprived of what this young man could have been, the influence he could have had during his lifetime on his own generation, the things that he could have contributed to our civilization and our country are lost to us!!! There are no words, there is absolutely no way, that anyone can say or do that would alleviate the shared grief that we all feel
Memes on facebook are showing Venezuela having taken away the guns of all citizens. Query, how is the government and constitution of Venezuela the same and/or different from that of the United States of America.
Hey Jeff, run this one for a couple more days: it will probably be topical again.
A lot of companies have safety signs that say something like “X Days since the last reportable incident.” We need signs that say, “America: X days since the last mass shooting.”

Other nations have banned assault rifles. The US has not. What will it take to stop the insanity? You reap what you sow.

Heard near the end of the evening news, "… and the State Fair will be closing this weekend, so come on out.
In other news, there was another mass shooting at a local school. More after these messages."

That’s the problem with America today; there just aren’t enough guns on the streets.

Only 40,000 Americans died by gunfire last year but that’s the price I’m willing to pay order to keep my guns.

I find it interesting that a person who needs a gun to feel brave is calling those who live life without the need of a gun Sissies.
