It’s a good thing they’re not NYC squirrels. They’d be throwing more than acorns.
Arf’ing at squirrels doesn’t work for dogs either. Squirrely arguments are best avoided. They usually have the high ground.
There is a rock climbing route up here in northern NH called “Bombardment”. So named due to the squirrels tossing acorns at the first ascent party.
Perhaps you should take barking lessons from Curly of The Three Stooges.

Yeah, I’m thinking squirrels pretty much ignore barking dogs at the bases of trees.
