What I found hilarious is that Trump said that he did so to protect HIS powers under the Constitution. Hey, the Constitution gives CONGRESS the power to declare war, NOT the President. Still, Trump’s comment is consistent with his apparent feeling that a presidency is (or should be) a dictatorship, and that EOs somehow are “Bills”.
We have had imperial presidencies too much in the past, with far too many of the powers given to the Courts and to Congress appropriated by the Presidency, and we were well past the point where Congress should have demanded back its own powers in full before the advent of the Trump presidency, but Trump’s grabs so far greatly exceed all of the past abuses. There are times when his imperial behavior reminds me of Germany shortly before the legislature there signed away all its powers to Hitler.
Quoted segments:“The attorney general has created an environment that has caused a significant part of the public … to be concerned about whether or not there is full transparency,” U.S. District Court Judge Reggie Walton [an appointee of President George W. Bush] said during a hearing… demanding access to… findings of special counsel Robert Mueller…the judge said… he plans to “fast track” the issue of the report and what information in it must be disclosed, then deal with other records from Mueller’s probe.
“We’d be dealing separately with the report,”said Walton. He also said he’ll want to consider whether to order the government to give him an unredacted copy of the report so he can assess whether the redactions are proper.

Had the redactions been small this might not have mattered, but as you can see from the released materials and the visual that shows how very much has been redacted, this second review might turn out to matter greatly.

It might be hazardous to the hundreds of billions in military hardware that the U.S. is selling to the Saudis.
