Methinks Tiffany ne’er heard of a summer semester.

Ooops, What? I have to go to school while living at the school?

Um, Tiff, if you want to stay in your dorm suite, you have to maintain your student status. In other words, you have to take a certain number of credits during the summer. Hurry, the summer registration is closing.

Maybe she could move in with Gunther and Les? ✨

Maybe the college offers courses in cosmetology or other related subjects?

Sign up for a class. In your case, Kleftnobulism 101 will do…

Here’s a radical idea, Tiff. Why not take some business courses during the Summer and get the jump on the Fall semester?

So now we have the perfect set-up for Tiffany learning to live outside the lap of luxury on a waitress’s budget. (And maybe a reason to bring back Crystal as the roommate?) Hilarity ensues. Luann might also be an option, but that would destroy the sharing-with-Pru subthread (where did that go, by the way? Somebody tell the Evanses that Pru is an interesting, theatrical character that they’re underutilizing.)

Didn’t Tiffany already live in the dorm over the summer previously when she became depressed and gained weight? I do not recall her taking classes then. I remember her being depressed as her dad blew her off and went with his “new girlfriend” for the summer instead. Where was RA Bernie then? I just looked it up, here is the strip where Gunther is knocking on Tiff’s DORM ROOM door as summer ended:

So what she’s saying is she doesn’t have any class.

Some schools allow students to remain in the dorms over the summer even if they aren’t taking any classes. I know I did that one summer when I was in college.

I think that Tiff needs to spend her Summer by not only attending a Summer semester in a class or two, but coming up with ways to expose Ann Eiffel to her father for the woman that she REALLY is.

I wasn’t aware she even took classes.

Her learning will be slow but it will teach her something, sometime. I hope.

I’d hoped to be free of The Trials And Tribulations of Tiffany Soap for a few more weeks. Oh, well!

YAY! More interactions between Tiffany and Bernice! It’s always fun see how easily Tiffany can destroy Bernice’s logical world just saying a huge absurdity. Maybe they could end up spending the summer together? Tiff and Bern’s adventures!!!

An off-the-wall observation: Ever since Gunther started appearing cleanshaven (in the Tiffany double date with Les fiasco) he seems to be on a somewhat different arc than in the past. He’s had a titillating evening with Luann, moved out of his shell with e-dating, seems to have found a simpatico interest in Bets and has been more confrontational with his roomie, Les.

Could G&K be signaling a new role for the Gman? Though their track history on character reversion is pretty disheartening!

Tiffany doesn’t know about that pesky rule where you have to take classes to stay in the dorms over summer. Take some business classes, Girl, and get on with your financial independence.

Bernice – “I’m sorry, Tiff. But but the rules have CHANGED. You MUST take Courses in order to REMAIN On Campus this Summer. OR be sharing a dorm room with someone who IS taking Summer courses. Rules are Rules!”

Tiffany – “Oh Pooh! I HATE taking classes! Guess I just take out an ad for a “Roomie!”

(Two hours later)

Bets – “Hi! I’m Bets! I’ll be taking Advanced Physics Classes On Campus this Summer! I heard you have room and I need place to crash! Plus, I need a reason to stay in town to be close to this guy I just met! I’ll pay 100% of the room rate. All you need to do is give me a key and make some space! I hope you like Star Trek, because I’m big fan!”

Tiffany – “You got a DEAL! I got lots of Room! And I love Star Trek! This guy pal of mine turned me on to the show a couple of years ago! So. What’s your guys name? You know. In case he comes by the dorm so I can buzz em in?”

Bets – “I tell Everybody his name is “Doug,” a guy I went out with once and Walked Out On mid-date, just to throw ‘em off track! But you look like someone I can TRUST! His name is (GIGGLE) Gunther! And he’s just the sweetest thing!”

Tiffany – WHO?!!?

Bets – “Gunther! I can’t wait for you to met him!”

Tiffany – “Yessssss. Can’t “wait.” Make yourself at home and tell me MORE about him, “Dearie.”

I hope next term someone else is the RA.

Good…. I HOPE Tiffany stays in the dorm all Summer!!!!! It would be nice to have more things going on on-campus!!!! I would not be fond of Tiffany going out and “rooming” with someone (especially not Les and Gunther), so I hope that does not happen. In a real good turn of events, it would be great if Tiffany would take some beginning business courses during the Summer since she needs to take something while there…. and beginning business courses are fairly easy…. even likely fairly easy for Tiffany.

Hmm.. I think that this arc is a review on how well Bernice is performing as an RA.. The fellows she visited earlier had remnants of a wild party (stilletos, maybe a thong) thrown in their room/suite AND the guys had no clue what an RA was ( Bernice’s responsibility through the year to know them and have them know who SHE was) and now Tiff doesn’t know she has to be out for summer or take classes. Wonder what else Bernice will stumble into.. End of year to be interesting for Bernice

Has anybody else noticed that the hanging chains of Tiffany’s belt appear to spell out “coffee tea or” and the next line is unintelligible. Subconscious doodling on Greg’s part???

This may take a while for it to seep in, but she could use this summer to get a head start on her business degree. She could also consider beauty classes at the community college. She does want a cosmetology degree, does she not?

Funny… Not too long ago, Tiffany was packing her things to go home; even though Ann Eiffel was living there with her father. Thankfully, Des convinced her to stay and get a business degree to make her new business venture a realty. Des even taught her how to acquire her first independent credit card.

Perhaps Des can teach her to do some summer courses so she can stay at the dorm…

Curious thing this is at a school you must go to qualify.

Maybe Bernice will get Tiff to look at the summer class schedule where she will spot a business course with a title like “starting your own small business”.

@RSH I remember seeing some of those ads back in the ’70’s: "Send $3, and you will get our book, “Everything You Need To Know About Starting Your Own Small Business” and a red light bulb. Your choice of 40 watt, 60 watt, or 75 watt.

First thing that sets up the hilarity ensues is that, as some people here have mentioned, Tiffany will find out that there is an opportunity cost here, she will have to take at least one 8 or 10 week Summer class to be able to stay in the dorms. Universities are not hotels, although they have hotels for visitors. Just so somebody doesn’t call me out on not making the distinction. Not that any of you would do that (lol).

I understand not wanting to live with Awful Annie. But if Tiffany stays on campus and by herself (which would not be allowed by the college unless she registered for something), those increasingly obvious extra pounds and chins not only will not come off but will increase through the sedentary/snacking lifestyle….
