Remember the Alabama Maersk incident during the Obama administration, where military snipers rescued an American sea captain by killing Somali pirates? I saw two right wing takes on that. As you might expect, one did not mention Obama and headlined “brave American military sharpshooters rescue crewman”. The other headlined “Obama orders the murder of teenage boys”.

The RW wanted Omar to say “Islamic terrorists” just like they always pressed Obama to say. The problem with this is it gives the terrorists the cover of the religion, which they do not deserve. Should the white nationalists committing terrorist acts against Muslims (and Sikhs because they think they’re Muslims) be called “Christian terrorists”?

I don’t know if Ms. Sorenson understands satire. For a parody of New York Post headlines, you’re supposed to imagine headlines more absurd or horrible than the real ones, not ones that are basically the same as what the Post really prints.
