I recall reading about a study a couple of years ago that said that horses listening to classical music had lower anxiety, much like in humans. I wonder what playing it does for their anxiety?
With Houyhnhnms they have a certain magick that horses do not. (They may be distant kin, hard to be sure.) And so it goes with musical instruments. And they can see the notes as they play, they are quantities and the device needs them back like bullets in a gun. You won’t find them in our world. But then Horace walks in two worlds here. His own and our world. Say hi to Mr.Ed for me, he is a Houyhnhnm and they live longer than horses. And maybe longer than humans too.

Put some flypaper on the ceiling to catch the notes so they won’t fall back in.
On the other hand, maybe if you can reuse the notes you already played, it will be less work next time.
