I’m sorry friends and neighbors, but Jack doesn’t sound all that interested in being Luann’s boyfriend.

But Jack? Please feel free to “sabotage” Luann’s date, every chance you get, anyway. Just for snits and giggles.

Luann? Make SURE you meet Doug at the Fuse.

(I’ll alert Gunny, in case he wants some payback. And if Doug is Good looking, and I expect he IS, Waitress Tiffany will take care of the REST! Her first big “tip” is coming right up!)

Jesus. They never once paid attention to their teacher’s lectures and they’re the top three students in the class? I find this hard to believe….

The first one Jack needs to talk to is Greg. He has evidently scrawled something on the pages in Jack’s binder again. Tara looks a little weird in the last panel with no eyelids.

Jack, just pinch him on the cheek. He’ll leave burn marks on the floor.

So if Bets gets Gunther and Tara gets Jack – is Luann gonna blame everybody else?

What if Jack and Doug really hit it off?

“Hey you! Get your damn habds off her. Do you really think I should swear?”

I feel this whole arc is a precursor, a lead-in if you will, to Luann and Jack realising that they have feelings for each other.

And thus Operation Rescue-me-from-Mr.-Goodbar takes shape.

It’s kinda sweet that Jack wants to be her wing man. It isn’t a bad idea these days because you never know who is going to show up for the date. That’s why you should always meet in a public place.

Luann may not have Gunther’s luck. There’s always that chance.

You know? That obnoxious guy that was making the moves on Luann during that “wild party” Tara dragged her to last year, must have really scared the H3LL out of Lu. She hasn’t been on a date since.

So now, moment of truth time:

1) Will Doug be a Handsome, Witty, and Honest, keeper, but Jack screws it up, because after virtually IGNORING Luann for 7 months, the Big Lug suddenly develops “feelings” for her at the WORSE possible time?

2) Or will Luann NEED to be “rescued” from Doug, by Jack? (Which would make twice he’s had to do it) Unfortunately, It would also prove that “Luann cannot take of herself.” Which might make some “folks” upset.

3) Jack finally gets off his arse, steps up to the plate and asks Luann out. And she agrees to go out with a “known quantity.” And NO Tara this time.

I’m hoping for #3…….,

Luann, don’t let Jack be “the one that got away”.

When Jack was first introduced, I kind of thought he was a dumb/jock/jerk. But now he has evolved, and I like him a lot. Luann should too.

Tara’s lips are heart shaped.

He’s just naturally heavy built but he doesn’t have that Dwayn Johnson definition. Big arms is not the same as “biceps”.

A couple of old points first. There seem to be two aborted arcs in this chem class, with Jack and Tara series. First there was Jack and Luann expressing concern about Tara being missing for a number of days with a lame explanation from Tara upon return. The second was the “creepy” lab assistant/proctor that apparently “had eyes” for Luann.

I can’t believe either of those two episodes were initiated only as filler or two be cast aside. It is a puzzle.

I like Jack’s idea a lot! This could bring at some really good and hilarious situations!!

So now it’s Luann’s turn in the “date-pic” barrel. Les and Tara are serial players and Gunther has gotten lucky with his first. Will Luann pull out a plum or a pickle with her first foray?

I guess Luann’s brief flirt with Jack as more than a friend has played out with Greg. Seems he’s relegated to gatekeeper or Big brother role or some such.

Even with Greg’s recent interest in e-dating episodes, for some reason I don’t see the Jack character going that route.

One interesting thought is whether Gunther will stick with Bets, or will he throw another fish net into the e-dating pool? He had great luck with his first. That would be going against character but so was his first blind e-date. Either outcome was comedic potential. — Just a thought.

I don’t understand why some people don’t like Jack.

And Evans has done his work for today.

Like to see: Ox with Tiffany and Jack with Luann. Gunther and Bets in a relationship like Knute and Crystal, unlikely, but fun.

I was going to put the link to a youtube of “here I come to save the day” Mighty Mouse" theme song, but anyone can search it up. Great memories from our youth. Jack the gentleman, the “protector” of Luann. This is kind of like what Brad was portrayed with Toni when they first began to be interested in each other. Of course she had Dirk, a clear and present abusive danger. Luann has Doug. Whither this arc goes. Interesting, but maybe a McGuffin, Tara “notices” how buff Jack happens to be.

Moony U is an easy party school. Mostly for the local girls to attend while getting their Mrs. degree.

Why doesn’t she just date him already. He would be great for her.

What is hilarious to me is that when Luann was boycrazy in high school, all the posters moaned about that fact. Now that she is not in a hurry to date anything male that is still breathing, all the posters are waa-waa-waaing about how she is gonna end up an old lady alone with her cats. Make up your alleged minds…

I have a friend like that. He’s 6’9" and 300 pounds. He’s a former corrections officer, and all he really had to do was stand over an inmate and look at him in order to make him behave.

So much for those two being an item. He wants to be her wingman, not her boyfriend.

This conversation could easily be set in high school. Theoretically, this crew is a good 1-2 years past that phase of life. They don’t act it.

Ooh! It it sooo obvious that Tara has the hots for him. And really nice of Jack to come to Luann’s rescue, should she need it. Good Gawd, Luann has nothing to worry about unless Doug comes after her, then it’s Jack to the rescue.

C’mon Jack and Luann…fall for each other already! <3

Not for nothing, but with this being chem lab, that phone shouldn’t be on in the first place.

I would think that Luann and Doug have posted pictures of themselves and talked about things they are interested in. The whole point of these dating sites is that two persons can get to know each other sufficiently well (like Gunther and Bets did) in advance of meeting so that when/if they do get together it is not a surprise. If Luann thinks that Doug could be a creep she should have figured that out by now.

An interesting role for Jack to play. However, it seems a bit far fetched as a plot device.

I would think that most “on-line” dating “first dates” happen in a very public space of one sort or another where the creeps, bums, and users have little or no ability to act on their impulses. In this regard, it would seem like Jack would be rather superfluous.

Yet, it will be interesting to see how Jack behaves…. will Jack put the “muscle” on Doug who exhibits bad behavior…. or will Jack, while watching the Luann-Doug date suddenly realize he has more romantic feelings for Luann than he knew…. and grow jealous?

Jack better leave soon if he’s going to meet Greg at 4:30 !!!!

Seems to me that Tara is very blatantly coming on to Jack. If Luann doesn’t claim him quickly (if she wants him), he will become another notch on Tara’s belt….

Hands off, and really we’re going to witness the roundabout chain of events for Luann to come to the realization that Jack is the right dude for her.
