Ironic to go to the ‘Opinions’ bar and have to ‘keep it to yourself’ during ‘happy hour’. Also odd that happy hour is two hours long. I like irony, sometimes.
Ah for the “good old days” when people could discuss differences without being called idiots, bigots, racists. Where one could put up with friends who thought differently and have a friendly drink!
I like Wiley’s two characters, one a “suit”, the other a “working man”, perhaps friends… Most bars really have opinions constantly expressed, but one best temper that with some consideration of others present, and the “regulars” set the tone. Political opinions are a mine field. But I would hate a bar that would not tolerate considerate opinions of all types. For us regular pub types, the changes over time in our internal society are fascinating.

On the TV, Mr. Rogers is talking to a boy or girl or transgender and I’ll try hard not to say anything political.

It ’ a bit oxymoronic to have the evening news and happy hour at the same time.

All the local blowhards . . . er, I mean . . . pundits hang out at Dunkin’ Donuts. I avoid that place like the plague.

The ultimate tough out would be a “Cell Phone-Free Zone” college campus grille.

Don’t get into it anymore. Don’t even follow it much anymore. The country is done for and all I can do is mourn.

Just say, “Thank you for your opinion.” and walk away. It gives them nowhere else to go.

Still not an hour.

Could we stretch the two hours to 24????

That would only be a problem with social media. Face-to-face, people are a lot less vocal, that is, unless it’s one of those pink “hat” protests. ;-)

Well, if these two guys drink, heavily, for a half hour, they won’t care about the news.

It’s the “Surly Hour”. When it’s over, it’s “Katy Bar The Door” Hour!

I’m often surprised by how few people want to share their opinions on GoComics.

How serendipitous for this one to follow yesterday’s discussions here.

Ever wonder how bartenders are able to keep their cool, given all the crazy stuff people say to them?

Or just ask them to turn the TV on.

Some people’s Opinions are like Diarrhea.
They Must be Expressed.
And should be expressed in the same room as the Diarrhea.
