Children (including those who admit on viral videos that they don’t care about school and just want to party) who have rich parents get into college through a “side door.”

Trump (who knows nothing and cares nothing about actual policies unless they enrich him personally), who has rich Russian sugar daddies in Moscow (Papa Putin) and St Petersburg (Internet Research Agency trolls) to launder thirty MILLION in illegal foreign campaign donations through the NRA domestic terrorist and international money laundering organization, as well as supporting massive voter suppression cheating, get into the White House through a side door (Electoral College) created by Southern Slave owners to make sure the slave states would ratify the Constitution.

Yeah, those stupid ol’ Founders really blew it, didn’t they? They only set up the world’s oldest and most successful democracy. But let’s get rid of the electoral college, pack the Supreme Ct, repeal the first two amendments to the Constitution — and make Mr. Toles happy.

    Bulls eye, Tom!

We’ve known about the education “scandal” on various levels for a long time now.

Not that America’s problem with the EC is anything new, but it has led us into the greatest disaster in American history in my lifetime. We need to stay FOCUSED and get rid of the parasite!

To a great degree (pun intended), attending an Ivy League or some other prestige school is a status symbol just like a $25,000 Rolex is a status symbol. The Rolex doesn’t tell time any better than the $20 Casio that’s on my wrist, but that’s not Rolex’s point or function. That being the case, why not be upfront about the whole thing. Prestige universities should offer an “oligarch tuition” that guarantees admission for an extra, say, $100,000 per semester PLUS the regular tuition. Undoubtedly, part of that premium tuition will have to be put towards “baby sitting” the Rolex students, but the balance could well be put towards underwriting the cost of attending for less well-heeled and genuine scholars. In any case, it would be no nonsense, far less “wasteful,” not illegal, frankly capitalistic, and result in the sort of honesty that no one really wants…

NPR was interviewing several high school kids the other day, about college admission.

One went on and on with 90% filler words: So he goes like you know it was just so cool….

Another said he LOVED learning – he watched YouTube videos! Which is like television, only worse.

What is the point of acquiring wealth if you can’t buy everything you want? Fairness and equal justice are just platitudes aren’t they?

Only in America can you LOSE AN ELECTION by 2.8 MILLION VOTES and still “win”. And, Why is it that ONLY the Presidential Election is run through the outmoded Electoral College? ANY OTHER ELECTION, the candidate with the MOST VOTES wins… The Electoral College is a direct denial of the concept of “One Man, One Vote”.Many states have proportionally MANY MORE Electoral College votes per 100,000 population then others, meaning some in some states 1 vote equals 3 votes in others.

The Republicans figured out long ago that it is easier to convince the relatively few Electoral voters than the general public.

Until Mr. Trump releases his own college transcripts, he needs to keep his mouth shut about the academic performance of others. Mr. “Art of the Deal” can only bluff when he knows he doesn’t have to show his own hand. As to the Electoral College, I favor neither endorsing or condemning it yet, as I’m still educating myself on the process as a whole.

Without the Electoral College we would not have had to endure the last Two Republican “Administrations”. Think about that for a second! That’s as good of a reason to eliminate it as ANY OTHER!!
