Unless Scooter’s around.

They also seldom bite.

They don’t play fetch, though.

All you have to do is reattach the tail with a spring so it can wag as you reel your dog in. “Oh! He’s happy to see me.”

That has got to be the only well-behaved dog on Ballard Street.

And…he won’t squirt you with a hose! Trouble is, though, his paint probably peels! And, when those wheels come off—whoa, mama! Well, I guess he just stands there. You could drape a little ivy over him!

What if he sees the plywood cat?

Does he leave wood shavings for you to pick up?

He’s no fun at the dog park.

He won’t leave any presents on the lawn either.

And he won’t bark every time a leaf blows by. Wait, you mean only my dog does that?

There are quite a few handmade pets on Ballard Street….

Arthur might want to go see who’s hanging out at the Handmade Dog Park, over on Lincoln, just up the hill from Ballard St at Cherry.

He could get a few ideas for adding some extra “zip” to his pet.

I know Gary takes his dog there…

And I saw Chester and Ida there with Bobo just last Saturday.

Of course, we have plenty of other animals in the neighborhood without so much as a wheel…

so perhaps Arthur is quite content with things as they are… and I don’t blame him.

The crank is a nice touch. Hand over hand would just seem kind of abusive.

But they get termites instead of fleas.

Be sure to take into consideration the gravity of the situation.

Arthur is saving up for a retractable leash.

Plywood puppies aren’t much fun.

It doesn’t look like i’m going to make it to the book sighning in Portland today.

My mistake.

I didn’t realize that it was going to be at 7:30 PM, and i was making my plans for an am. Since i have a 6:00am client tomorrow, being in Portland in the evening isn’t an option.

Still have the day off. Still going to pick up Jenny and do a day trip.

And.. if the wind blows it over.. it looks like it is sleeping.

I used to date an inflatable girlfriend.

Doesn’t require all that expensive pet food and he doesn’t shed!

But…not very much on hugging or licking your face.

A funny thing about todays comic.Todays little road trip took us through Tillamook County, home of the Tillamook cheese factory. For those of you that don’t know this part of the world, Tillamook makes some very fine cheeses. Their aged White Cheddar is to die for.Tillamook County has cows. Lots of cows.Out in one smaller field someone had planted two plywood cows.

This is what happens when you feed your pet that cheap stuff with cellulose filler.

But it might roll away.
