I don’t know what to say much about any of these. Seigniorage sounds like it could be pronounced seniorage, but what’s there to profit by printing money?
That Purple Heart one suggests that they had such a stockpile for the anticipated invasion of Japan that they were able to give them out for every military conflict since WWII up through the present (unless the government, for some reason, made up new medals for Korea, Vietnam, etc., and only recently decided to raid the old stores).
For those who ask “why did they drop the bomb”, that little Purple Heart factoid answers perfectly. So glad my Dad came home and didn’t have to invade.
