At some point the kids should realize their idea is never going to work!

Well it is a standard and often effective sales strategy. Get the prospective customer to answer yes to a series of questions and they become predisposed to saying yes. Not saying it always works, but it is used.

Always on his toes.

When I was married and we’d go out for date night, we would joke about my going on a date with a married woman…

I think Jon Arbuckle used this strategy to trick Liz into going on a date once.

Roger isn’t as dense as we thought.

Not bloody likely. Dads have that key-word detector built in and honed sharp by years of challenges.

I’m kind of surprised that Roger was alert enough. Usually the comic strip dads are morons.

Can’t make it past dad’s BS filter!

Need to give that semicolon thing some thought;

Wonder if Roger got all those “That’s nice” comments from his Golfster magazine … ?
